PixelLux were delighted to be asked by Layered Reality, the UK’s leading immersive specialists, to provide systems design, integration and technical support for their new immersive experience, Elvis Evolution, celebrating the life of Elvis Presley. Led by PixelLux’s technical director, Harrison Cooke, and supported throughout by project manager, Ben Goulding-Huckle, the team oversaw and implemented the video systems design and installation, as well as the CCTV and networking elements of the installation.
In the pre-production phase, we worked closely with the creative team to connect them with trusted suppliers and resources. We designed a tailored technical system to meet the production’s parameters, while researching cutting-edge and relevant technologies to enhance the final performance. From sourcing to purchasing logistics, we managed every detail to ensure a seamless and efficient process.
In the rehearsal phase, we oversaw the installation and setup of all technical video elements and logistical components to support the creative process. Our small but dedicated team remained flexible throughout, responding to the changing needs of the project and pivoting focus as required. We maintained close communication with suppliers throughout, creating clear feedback loops and swiftly resolving any issues to keep the project on track.
During onsite installation, we delivered theatrical video moments alongside CCTV and network systems, ensuring seamless connectivity across stage, backstage, and front-of-house. Our skilled programmer worked closely with the creative content departments to ensure all content aligned seamlessly with the artistic vision. A comprehensive operations manual and clear documentation ensured for a smooth handover between PixelLux and the show delivery team.
